The 1064nm Infrared Laser Module is particularly suited for specific application scenarios, as outlined below:

Fine Work on Metals: While the cutting capabilities of a 2W laser might be limited, it can perform detailed engravings on metal surfaces. This is especially effective for precision markings and intricate decorative details.

Detailed Processing on Plastics: The 2W laser is ideal for performing fine work on various types of plastic materials. It achieves clear engraving results without overheating or melting the material.

4. Do I need to purchase the Quick Swap Toolhead Plate separately if I already own a Snapmaker 2.0 or Artisan?

You do not need to buy the Quick Swap Toolhead Plate separately.

For Snapmaker 2.0, When using the 1064nm Infrared Laser Module with Snapmaker 2.0, you do not need to purchase the Quick Swap Toolhead Plate, regardless of having a Quick Swap Kit or not.

For Artisan, one Adjustable Quick Swap Toolhead Plate will be included with the 1064nm Infrared Laser Module, so there is no need to purchase it separately.

 

5. Can the 1064nm Infrared Laser Module cut metal?

The 1064nm Infrared Laser Module is not capable of cutting metal. It supports cutting 0.5mm black ABS plastic sheets and black acrylic.
